Programme of Events
The Brighton Digital Media Job Fair took place on 13 February 2008.
The programme for the day was as follows:
12 – 2pm
The Lunchtime Session
The Lunchtime session gave job seekers the chance to meet the companies on their stands and to informally network with them with. This session focused on students and recent graduates, with professional careers advisors on hand to advise them on how to move their careers forward.
2 – 4pm
Freelancers Session
The Freelancers Session included a talk from Sussex Business Awards’ Entrepreneur of the Year Darren Fell, a talk on co-working and ‘The Werks’ freelancer space from James McCarthy, and informal networking with local freelance collective Brighton Farm.
4 – 5pm
Brighton Internship Programme Event
In 2007 Wired Sussex has placed 14 interns at local companies, 6 of whom have been offered employment as a direct result. Companies and graduates interested in finding out about the scheme attended to find out about the plans for 2008.
5.30 – 9pm
Informal networking drinks
Commuters and those working locally talked met with exhibiting companies to find out more about their current vacancies.
